Viv Hall

Viv is a Professor at Victoria University of Wellington and has held the Macarthy Chair of Economics since July 1989. He was previously Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Sydney.

Viv’s research and teaching interests span macroeconomic theory, modelling, and policy, with particular focus on monetary policy, fiscal policy, and inflation. His current research involves: New Zealand and Australian business cycle analysis; and implications for New Zealand of an Australasian currency, or a common currency with the U.S. dollar.
