Aaron Schiff is a consulting economist and data analyst, based in Auckland. Aaron has run an independent consulting practice since 2014, providing services including statistical and econometric analysis, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, quantitative evaluation, and data visualisation to government, corporate and non-profit clients. His work includes regulatory and policy analysis, competition economics, and outcome and economic evaluation. His experience spans a variety of sectors and activities including transport, tourism, health, science and technology, social services, telecommunications, and electricity.
Before establishing his own business, Aaron worked as an economist at Covec, held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Institute of Economic Research at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, and lectured in the Department of Economics at the University of Auckland.
Aaron has a PhD in economics from the University of Auckland. He is an expert user of R for data analysis, econometrics and visualisation. His research has been published in journals including the Journal of Air Transport Management, Tourism Management, and the International Journal of Industrial Organization.
